Leaders Bayern drop first points in Frankfurt

Frankfurt's Carlos Zambrano (L) and Robert Lewandowski of Munich in action  Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich dropped points for the first time in the Bundesliga this season when held to a battling goalless draw by midtable Eintracht Frankfurt Friday. Bayern dominated the contest but struggled to create many chances despite having 70 per cent of possession. A late strike by Robert Lewandowski, correctly ruled out for offside, was as close as they came to a goal. Immediately after the break Frankfurt enjoyed a brief strong spell and threatened a winner from Alexander Meier. Marc Stendera was also presented with a great opportunity following Manuel Neuer's error but the keeper recovered to save. The draw takes Bayern eight points clear of second-placed Borussia Dortmund, who can cut the gap when they visit Werder Bremen on Saturday. Eintracht gained a place to 11th, moving above promoted Darmstadt.
